Beginning in the Summer 07 cohort candidates will be able to choose either a Multiple Subject credential program, an Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Disabilities credential program, or a combined credential program. This unique new approach allows candidates who will teach together as special and general education teachers in schools an opportunity to learn together in their credential program. The focus is not only on specific teaching pedagogies for general and/or special education, but also on inclusive education and collaboration skills.

All candidates enter the program in the summer and take the same curriculum for both credentials. In the fall, the general and special education tracks share some courses, while others are specific to each credential program. Throughout the remainder of the year the two tracks merge in some courses for the optimum experience in education. Candidates may chose a multiple subject credential or a special education credential only - or may earn both during the program.

Candidates who already possess a multiple or single subject credential may be able to enter the program in the fall quarter and take less than a full time load for some of the program.
