Susan Westbrook, MA

Adjunct Faculty

Susan Westbrook, MA, is the Credential Analyst at Antioch University Santa Barbara. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California San Diego and her master’s in Education in Reading Improvement from California State University, Northridge. Sue received her Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate in 1997.  She taught in the Ocean View School District in Oxnard, California for 37 years in kindergarten through fifth grades, as a Reading and Science Specialist, and as a GATE teacher.

Sue was a mentor teacher, a Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment Support Provider, and a Cooperating Teacher for CSU Channel Islands throughout those years. She has served numerous years as the President and Senior Vice President for the Early Childhood, K/12 Council with the California Federation of Teachers. Sue has also worked as an Adjunct Professor for Antioch University and a Master Teacher for California Lutheran University. Sue has recently been named to serve on the Educator Excellence Task Force to focus on the Educator Quality element of the Blueprint for Great Schools and designed to strengthen California’s teacher corps.
