Marlene Valter, PsyD, earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from Pepperdine University in 1996. A licensed psychologist since 2001, early career research and training in child development and child abuse led to her career in forensic psychology with a specialization in child custody and other juvenile and civil matters.

Dr. Valter worked for Los Angeles Superior Court Family Court Services from 1998 to 2004. She maintains an independent clinical-forensic psychology practice for Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. She has presented at various psychology-law workshops including trainings sponsored by the Santa Barbara County Bar Association. Dr. Valter’s research interests include the use of Limited Assessments in Child Custody matters and Child Testimony in Family Law.
