Lily Maestas, MSW, started her career in social work at a Veterans Hospital in Seattle and received her degree from the University of Washington. She was selected as an Educational Leadership Fellow in the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. After the fellowship her work as a Career Counselor on college campuses began, where she focused on the complex, and often confusing, issues that occur during the evolution of the college student into a working professional.In her 20 plus years in the field of Career Counseling she has been deeply involved in the program development of Career Counseling Centers on campuses across the country and has presented seminars concerning career counseling theory, personal assessment, job search strategies, negotiation skills, job market and economic research. She is the author of two books published by Kendall Hunt, Unlimited Options: Career Strategies to Last a Lifetime and Get Clear on Your Career. Both texts are used in higher education throughout the U.S.
