Jim Murray, MA
Jim Murray, M.A., received his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2002. Murray is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in working with teens, adolescents and substance abuse. He is also an accomplished journalist. In 2010, Murray was named “Sportscaster of the Year” by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters.
Jim received his clinical training in the Los Angeles Unified School system, working primarily with at-risk high-school students. Jim has also worked in the Alcohol and Drug Program at UCSB.
Murray has over 9 years working as a broadcast journalist. With stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Oregon, Murray has a wide variety of experience in the field. He’s covered everything from the 2010 Olympics to President Obama’s 2008 campaign. Currently he is a reporter for KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara.
Murray teaches in both the Communications and Psychology Departments at Antioch.
