Heather LaFace, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist working in private practice in west Los Angeles with adults, couples, and adolescents. She also works in an inpatient, multidisciplinary team setting with individuals who suffer from severe and chronic mental illness.

Dr. LaFace works within a framework of attachment and relational theory, updated and extended by neurobiological and self-organizational understandings of affective and cognitive interventions. Current writing and theoretical research explores paradigm-shifting connections between neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, and social theory toward the development of an embodied process model of mind and brain.

Dr. LaFace specializes in integrated, trauma-informed approaches to treatment and is passionate about working with adolescent psychology from a developmental systems orientation that recognizes the complexity of adolescence occurring at multiple levels of dynamic person-context relations between diverse biological, psychological, and socio-cultural systems.

She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2011.
