David San Jose, PhD, earned his Doctoral degree at the University of Auckland, New Zealand and specializing in Curriculum Development, Assessment Practices, and eLearning. He earned his BA in Communication at UCSB and MA in Communication at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. David has taught many courses at Antioch University Santa Barbara for over 8 years: Fundamentals of Public Speaking, Selling Yourself Through Speech, Interpersonal Communication in a Mediated World, and Social Media.

For the last few years, he has been teaching Antioch’s online Social Media course remotely from Auckland, New Zealand. His current research interest is the development of eLearning designs and assessments for learning. His teaching philosophy is based upon the understanding that learning is about the eternal pursuit of knowledge and our journey together in becoming lifelong learners. I learn from my students and in-turn they learn from me. It is the social construction of not just learning from one another but the learning and understanding of the truth and knowledge is within us.
