Writing Center

Welcome back for Winter Quarter! Click here to see our hours for Winter Quarter 2017.

New: Check out our expanded Resources & Links page. And all of our upcoming Presentations & Events, free for AUSB students (including new Eat Your Words events)!

The Writing Center is located in Room 207. (Walk through the library, or take the stairs outside Room 118 up to the 2nd floor.)

The AUSB Writing Center is dedicated to offering students free peer assistance with any stage of the writing process, with the goal of helping students become stronger writers over time.

A list of the types of support we provide can be found on our Services page.

One-on-one sessions are available in 30 and 60 minute segments. We offer scheduled appointments and drop-ins as time permits; please see our FAQs for details.

Writing center visits are free and open to all Antioch students. More information can be found on our Hours and Appointments page.

Our Philosophy:
We encourage students to bring any writing task at any stage of creation to the Writing Center. The AUSB Writing Center employs a “peer to peer” tutoring model, which allows for a pressure-free, open dialogue about effective writing. No judgment, no grades, no shame — just positive encouragement and helpful support.

The WCenter is not an editing service, but is here to teach you strategies that will help you grow as a writer and develop your writing repertoire (skills, habits, and techniques) over time.
