Admission Criteria & Application Deadlines
The tabs below contain important information about the application process including admission requirements, application deadlines, and tips on how you can successfully complete your application. It is highly recommended that you apply AND submit all of your applications materials as early as possible. In most cases the earlier your application is complete (as defined below) the sooner you will receive an admission decision.
Information Sessions are a great way to learn more about our programs and admission process. Please note that if you attend an Information Session or Teleconference, you will receive an application fee-wavier code that can be used in lieu of payment when you complete the online application.
Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies
Entrance dates in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter quarters
Spring 2012 (April) – Priority Application Deadline is February 10, 2012
Admission Criteria:
- Online application on VIP page
- $60 application fee
- Completed a minimum of 30 semester units (45 quarter units) with a grade of ‘C’ or better from a regionally accredited institution. There is no math or science courses required for admission.
- Standardized tests are not required for admission, with the exception of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international student applicants whose native language is not English.
Grade averages and the quality and content of previous academic work are evaluated, recognizing that an adult’s present capacities may not be reflected in grades earned long before or in fields unrelated to present interests.
An application will be considered once the following are received:

- Application fee payment
- Official transcripts from all current and previously attended colleges or universities

Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology
Fall 2012 - Priority application deadline: May 11th, 2012. Classes begin the week of October 1, 2012.
Admission Criteria:

- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
- Admission essays (Essay prompts and instructions will be available on your VIP Page once your online application is submitted)
- Two letters of recommendation
An application will be considered once the following are received:
- Official transcripts from all current or previously attended colleges or universities
- All admission essays (see guidelines on VIP Page)
- Two letters of recommendation including required coversheet (see guidelines on VIP Page)
The program does not require that applicants submit G.R.E. scores.

Master of Arts in Education, Teacher Credential : Preliminary Multiple Subject and/or Preliminary Mild/Moderate Education Specialist
Summer 2012 - Priority application deadline: April 27, 2012. Orientation begins June 25, 2012.
Admission Criteria:

- Resume
- CBEST test scores, or proof of registration for the CSET Writing Skills exam
- CSET: Multiple Subjects exam, proof of registration or scores

PsyD in Clinical Psychology
Fall 2012 - Applications for Fall 2012 cohorts are currently being reviewed and will continue to be reviewed until the cohorts are full. Classes begin October 4th, 2012

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university

- Two letters of recommendation
An application will be considered once the following are received:

Standardized tests such as the GRE, are not required for admission, with the exception of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international student applicants whose native language is not English.
Qualified applicants should be high achieving students with an undergraduate degree in psychology, or substantial coursework in psychology, work experience in the field, or a master’s degree in another discipline, with a required minimum 3.2 grade-point average (or with outstanding narrative evaluations for those earning their undergraduate or graduate degree at Antioch University or other institutions that may have not designated letter grades). Applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree in psychology or have not completed significant coursework in psychology are encouraged to apply; completion of some undergraduate coursework in psychology may be required for admission. Please contact the Office of Admissions to discuss your individual background and learn how you can strengthen your application with supplemental coursework.
