Admission Criteria & Application Deadlines

The tabs below contain important information about the application process including admission requirements, application deadlines, and tips on how you can successfully complete your application. It is highly recommended that you apply AND submit all of your applications materials as early as possible. In most cases the earlier your application is complete (as defined below) the sooner you will receive and admission decision.

Information Sessions are a great way to learn more about our programs and admission process. Please note that if you attend an Information Session or Teleconference, the application fee will be waived.

Bachelor of Arts

Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies

Fall 2010Now accepting new applications. Classes begin October 4th, 2010.
Winter 2011 – Priority application deadline: September 3rd, 2010. Classes begin January 3, 2011

Admission Criteria:

  • Online application on VIP page
  • $60 application fee
  • Completed a minimum of 30 semester units (45 quarter units) with a grade of ‘C’ or better from a regionally accredited institution. There is no math or science courses required for admission.
  • Standardized tests are not required for admission, with the exception of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international student applicants whose native language is not English.

Grade averages and the quality and content of previous academic work are evaluated, recognizing that an adult’s present capacities may not be reflected in grades earned long before or in fields unrelated to present interests.

  • Application fee
  • Official transcripts from all current and previously attended colleges or universities

M.A. Clinical Psychology

Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology

Winter 2011: Priority Deadline: October 29, 2011. Classes begin week of January 3rd, 2011

Admission Criteria:

  • Online Application on VIP page
  • $60 application fee
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
  • Admission essays (Essay prompts and instructions will be available on your VIP Page once your online application is submitted)
  • Two letters of recommendation

An application will be considered once the following are received:

  • Official transcripts from all current or previously attended colleges or universities
  • All admission essays (see guidelines on VIP Page)
  • Two letters of recommendation including required coversheet (see guidelines on VIP Page)

The program does not require that applicants submit G.R.E. scores.

Teacher Credential

Master of Arts in Education, Teacher Credential : Multiple Subject and/or Level I Mild/Moderate Education Specialist

Summer 2011: March 15th, 2011

Admission Criteria:

  • Online Application on VIP page
  • $60 application fee
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university

  • Two letters of recommendation (see guidelines on VIP page)
  • Resume
  • CBEST test scores, or proof of registration for the CSET Writing Skills exam
  • CSET: Multiple Subjects exam, proof of registration or scores

PsyD

PsyD in Clinical Psychology

Priority Application Deadline: Fall 2011 – January 31, 2011

Admission Criteria:

  • Online Application on VIP page
  • $60 application fee
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university
  • Admission essays (Essay prompts and instructions will be available on your VIP Page once your online application is submitted)
  • Two letters of recommendation

An application will be considered once the following are received:

  • Official transcripts from all current or previously attended colleges or universities
  • All admission essays (see guidelines on VIP Page)
  • Application fee
  • Two letters of recommendation including required coversheet (see guidelines on VIP Page)

Standardized tests such as the GRE, are not required for admission, with the exception of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international student applicants whose native language is not English. Qualified applicants should be high achieving students with an undergraduate degree in psychology, or substantial coursework in psychology, work experience in the field or a master’s degree in another discipline, with an expected minimum 3.2 grade-point average (or with outstanding narrative evaluations for those earning the master’s degree at Antioch University or other institutions that do not award grades).
