General Summary: Antioch University Santa Barbara is seeking a Full-time Core Faculty for the MA Program in Clinical Psychology. The position is for a full time faculty within the Master’s in Clinical Psychology Program who teaches, advises students, conducts scholarly work, and assumes administrative responsibilities. This position is for a faculty with applied clinical experience and teaching experience in the content domains of the program. A commitment to quality training in a practitioner-scholar program is required.
A. Engagement in Student Learning: Teaches 24 units per year of graduate psychology courses. Serves as a mentor for students in their academic and clinical training in the program. Conducts workshops on additional topics as needed.
B. Engagement in Scholarship and Creative Work: Conducts academic research, publishes appropriately in the discipline, presents knowledge to professional audiences in workshops and trainings. Maintains membership in professional organizations and attends trainings, conferences, and workshops to enhance professional growth and expertise in the field.
C. Engagement in Institutional Citizenship: Engages in service to the institution through non-teaching responsibilities that contribute to the operations of the University. Attends campus faculty and community meetings. Serves on campus and university wide committees. Participates in program and curriculum development and other departmental initiatives including, conducting admissions interviews, promoting enrollment through public presentations, program development, grant writing, and program assessment.
D. Engagement in Service: Participates in community service by carrying out responsibilities in professional organizations or the general community that brings expertise to the service of others outside the University including, the local and global community. May participate in community service in local, statewide, and national professional organizations.
E. Other Duties as Needed: Develops community collaborations and relationships that further the growth of the program. Other duties as assigned based on programmatic need.
a. Doctoral degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution.
b. Experience as faculty in higher education including teaching and administrative experience.
c. Experience in applied clinical practice.
d. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise in program development, and leadership roles preferably within an institute of higher education.
e. Experience in a multicultural environment with a demonstrated commitment to culturally diverse learners.
f. Detail orientation and organizational ability.
g. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of independent judgment and the ability to meet goals in a timely manner.
h. Ability to get along well with others and be a positive member of the AUSB community.
i. A strong commitment and understanding of the AUSB mission. An understanding of and commitment to AUSB students, especially adult learners and non-traditional students.
a. Knowledge of current California Board of Behavioral Sciences MFT and LPCC licensure regulations.
b. Grant writing or program development and assessment experience.
c. Record of scholarly publication.
Language Skills: English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Hours of Employment: This is a full-time position. The work schedule will be established in consultation with the department Chair with some evenings and/or weekend hours required. The normal week is Monday through Friday. Full time faculty are exempt employees.
Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is based upon qualifications and experience. This is a fully benefited position and includes medical/dental/vision insurance and TIAA-CREF and other university benefits.
