Please join us this Friday, February 8, at 6:00pm for a screening of the film Bitter Seeds. Manjusha Amberwar, an aspiring young journalist, examines the causes of an epidemic of farmer suicides in India—one every 30 minutes—that includes her own father. She hopes that by drawing attention to their plight, she can bring an end to this epidemic.
Then on Saturday, February 9, at 2:00pm ,we will be showing the film Climate Refugees. There is a new phenomenon in the global arena called “Climate Refugees”. A climate refugee is a person displaced by climatically induced environmental disasters.
This film series is co-sponsored by Fund for Santa Barbara and the Tribal Trust Foundation as part of a series of community dialogues on contemporary environmental and social justice issues affecting our world. All events are free and open to the public and held on the AUSB campus, 602 Anacapa Street, Santa Barbara, CA.
