Steven Kadin, PhD, ABPP, core faculty member in AUSB’s PsyD department, will be a speaker on a panel at the Journey of Hope 2011 Conference Friday, January 28, at New Life Church in Pismo Beach, CA. The forum is free and open to public from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the theme of recovery and living mentally well.
The Peer Advisory & Advocacy Team and Family Services of Transitions-Mental Health Association (TMHA) along with the Central Coast Psychological Association (CCPA) sponsor the forum. This event also offers continuing education units (CEUs) through San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Services and CCPA.
The forum’s keynote speaker, Kevin Hines, is an internationally-recognized presenter who has spoken to over a quarter of a million people about his first-hand experience with suicidal thoughts and his eventual attempt to end his life by jumping off of the Golden Gate Bridge. One of only 32 Golden Gate Bridge survivors, Hines is now actively spreading the message of suicide prevention and living mentally well.
The Mental Health Services Act through San Luis Obispo County Behavioral Health Services funds this event. Additional information about this event is available at the Transitions-Mental Health Association website, www.t-mha.org
